CNN reported last night that Jack Valenti, the former head of Motion Picture Association of America, was taken to a hospital in Baltimore yesterday after a recent stroke. A spokeswoman said he was “resting comfortably.”
Valenti worked in advertising and spent three years as a special assistant to Lyndon Johnson before becoming the president of the MPAA; he led the association from 1966 to 2004. He is best known for his part in creating the MPAA ratings system (G, PG, etc.)
