Oh, Lordy, Sue did not like this film. Like any good reviewer, she found positive moments (I think there were ten of them), but she ripped Smart People apart.
The cast is fantastic: Dennis Quaid, Ellen Page, Sarah Jessica Parker, Thomas Haden Church, Christine Lahti. Finding a better veteran cast would be hard. In the hands of a new director and with a plot Movie Rewind’s intrepid reviewer calls “convoluted”, this is not one of Ms. Sue’s faves of the year.
But don’t take my word for it. Mosey to the back, read the Smart People review and find out which cast member surprised her with a nuanced performance and which just ticked her off.
C’mon, you have to read the review. Her headline was Dumb Movie. Even if you liked the film, go in to the comments section and give her hell.
