Kiefer Sutherland has agreed to serve 48 days in jail. According to the terms of the plea deal, the 24 star will serve 30 days for a charge of driving under the influence (stemming from an incident last month); the additional 18 days is for violating his probation for his drunken driving case in 2004. Fortunately for the show, Sutherland will serve those 18 days during 24’s winter break, and has until next July to do the rest. He’ll be on probation for five years; Fox management and the show’s producers surely hope he won’t violate it again anytime soon.
