Ewan McGregor

Born in 1971, Ewan McGregor left school in Scotland at the tender age of 16 to pursue a career in acting.  After 6 years of stage acting and formal training he landed a role in a British TV series that led to his first big screen role in 1994’s Shallow Grave.  Director Danny Boyle would go on to cast him again in 1996 in his gritty film about heroin addiction – Trainspotting.

Suddenly in the American public eye, just three years later McGregor was cast in a little known entity known as the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy.  It doesn’t get much bigger than Star Wars and McGregor became a popular and sought after leading man on both sides of the Atlantic.  Leading roles in such diverse projects as Moulin Rouge with Nicole Kidman and Men Who Stare at Goats with George Clooney have earned him critical and popular acclaim.

McGregor has been married to production designer Eva Mavrakis since 1995 and the couple has three daughters.  He is active with UNICEF in Africa, GO Campaign and the Zoological Society of London.
