Tim Russert of Meet the Press dies at 58

The New York Times is reporting that Tim Russert, journalist and host of Meet the Press, has died, according to his family. Details are very sketchy right now — The New York Post says that Russert, 58, collapsed at NBC’s Washington bureau of an apparent heart attack, which no one else is saying, and Wikipedia’s bio of Russert is in a constant state of flux. Updates and confirmation, if it comes, will be posted here.

Update: CNN’s Wolf Blitzer is also reporting this now.

Update: Tom Brokaw went on air at 3:39 p.m. and confirmed Russert’s death of a heart attack. The network says Russert had been recording voiceovers for Meet the Press when he collapsed. He was 58.
