Clooney shells out $20 for lemonade

A bit of advice to aspiring lemonade sellers: set up shop in Tobaccoville, North Carolina, the current whereabouts of George Clooney.

Yesterday, during a break in shooting Leatherheads, Clooney visited a stand run by 10-year-old Carter, 6-year-old Chandler and 5-year-old Chase Fontaine. Instead of taking the drink for free (which the kids’ mother offered) or paying the 25-cent asking price, Clooney had an assistant give them $20.

Even if he doesn’t buy anything else, the attention will probably give the trio’s business quite a boost. It doesn’t hurt that Carter promptly made a sign “George Clooney was here!” sign to display along with their wares.
